SHOUT Festival of Queer Arts and Culture is Birmingham’s annual celebration of LGBTQ+ film, performance, and visual art and the UK’s largest Festival of Queer Art. Over 10 years SHOUT has presented hundreds of international renowned queer artists at venues across Birmingham including John Waters, Split Britches, Travis Alabanza, David Hoyle, Gateau Chocolat, Lucy McCormick and Rachael Young.
My work with the festival is concerned with supporting artistic development, platforming and exploring the experiences of queer people in the midlands, and ensuring the festival’s programme reflects, supports, and represents queer communities in the Midlands. SHOUT joined the Arts Council’s National Portfolio in 2018, becoming only the third queer organisation in England to achieve this. To find out more about SHOUT and to support our work click here.
