Queer Song Lab is a platform for musical experimentation, testing, guess work, and development focused on writing song. Bringing together queer songwriters, lyricists, musicians, and artists working with sound QSL will create facilitated spaces to create new partnerships, spark ideas, and make music together. Participants will be invited to experiment with new collaborations, share methodologies, and take risks with songwriting.
QSL is a peer-to-peer opportunity to think differently about songwriting practice and to focus on craft and the process of making without the necessity to deliver outcomes, products, or performance – it is a space to try and potentially to fail. Together we will find collective ways to foster community through music making.
Queer Song Lab is a part of A3 Projects’ ‘Participate’ programme, funded by Arts Council England and will take place in Summer 2020.
