KATH (in development)

MAKER-PERFORMER
Kath is 92. Kath is Leo. Kath is a character. Kath only wears purple. Kath is a homophobe. Kath lives in a home. Kath has dementia.  Kath is my Nanna. Kath does not know I am queer.

Kath is a solo-theatre performance exploring sexuality, homophobia, family, ageing, dementia, and mental health – intersected by shame.

Inspired by a childhood of performing living-room recitals Kath takes the form of a cabaret show mixing storytelling, song, and recorded interview to bridge the gaps between personas, celebrating and confronting two lives lived in secrecy and forever forgotten.

Kath is currently in development, and is supported with seed funding from MAIA Creatives as the winning applicant for the 2017 Proposal.
